I went to the candy tool store yesterday and walked up and down the aisles and geeked on all that was on offer there. They had things organized by trade and I bought a couple of 1/4" extensions. They have a line of tools that is less expensive but of decent quality. Also S-K... Anyhow, I saw one of these ratchets and had to ask what its purpose was, and the lady told me “scaffolding.” Theirs, same brand, was $55. This one is cheaper on Ebay.

So a bit of research - turns out the black proboscis is a “hammer head” Now I’m curious why the handle isn’t a marlin spike to complete the multi-tool thought process? like one of these:

I don’t know, but I think dealing with scaffolding as one’s job would be sheer drudgery. And ample opportunities to damage or sever fingers.
